Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis work was thematic learning biology in high school series and the use of environmental education as disciplinary teaching methodology . According to the authors cited in this study, the teaching of biology 's mission is to demystify science and bring the understanding of dynamic processes and biological structures that form the biodiversity of planet Earth. Due to the complexity and large number of content taught during biology classes, students often end up having difficulties in understanding the content developed during lessons. Therefore, work with content and teaching methodologies renewed becomes essential in the construction of new learning because the schools are currently being filled with students who bring new cultural , social and economic formations, featuring a new model of education that needs to be integrated with the reality of modern societies through the insertion of new concepts, content and training objectives. This study aimed to analyze and understand the students' perception of learning , content and methodologies used during biology classes, seeking to show that the disciplinary development methodologies forming social done through environmental education, stimulate research and aggregate interdisciplinarity and reality in the construction of knowledge, facilitating disciplinary learning. This study was conducted through a survey of perceptual data conducted with students (as) the 1st , 2nd and 3rd year of high school at a state school Macaws, seeking to identify and understand their difficulties and facilities on the contents of biology, as well to know their perception about the use of environmental education as a methodology of teaching – learning used during biology classes the school year of 2013. Through this study it was possible to know and understand the perceptions of students about the discipline of biology, allowing to identify the difficulties that occur during lessons in order to check for changes in the educational process and for the use of environmental education as disciplinary teaching methodology, puts that can be used as an important strategy in learning because within this educational process, we can work the construction of disciplinary knowledge, integration with reality and still encourage students to reflect, to seek for more knowledge and act critically and accountable to society, thus realizing a disciplinary environmental education based on students' education.pt_BR
