Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe genus Eucalyptus includes a large number of species, each with distinct adaptations in relation to climate and soil type, different. Their use as wood in ornamental sector is growing, occupying more and more space in the industry. As a consequence, increases the amount of waste generated, leaves, twigs, bark and seeds; which mostly are used in burning furnaces, which adds little value to the wood. Thus, we need studies and planning for better use of the waste, as gums, resins, essential oils, which may have important application potential. Given this context, the study continued the work done previously in which we performed a factorial design aimed at optimizing the conditions for obtaining, via hydrodistillation of essential oil of leaves and twigs of Eucalyptus viminalis waste. In this work eucalyptol was identified as a major component. So, continuing the above work, five samples obtained from the factorial design, had its chemical components identified and quantified, in addition to receiving statistical analysis: cluster analysis and principal components. As a result, we obtained 74 identified components (80.68%) from the analyzes in GC/MS, present in the oil of E. viminalis, in samples with different conditions of extraction. These compounds belong to the class of terpenes, constant presence in essential oils. The work presented great importance, since it was directed at identifying, analyzing data, interpreting and expanding the visibility of results, with the aid of statistical analysis, leading to future possibilities of use for the application of plant material (leaves and twigs).pt_BR
