Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to characterize the morphophysiological profile by anthropometric measurements and strength of high level acrobats on flying trapeze. Through this analysis we intend to investigate how this acrobatics circus activity has an influence on the anthropometric parameters of height, total body mass, body composition, perimeter and strength capacity levels. Neuromuscular analysis had the purpose to check the level of maximum grip strength, strength endurance of the arms and abdomen. From the data obtained in the evaluations were identified the main characteristics of the participants that can define flying trapeze as a physical effort and has different morphophysiological characteristics when comparing Flyers and Cacthers. Participants are acrobats who train flying trapeze, predominantly members of the CIRCOCAN - International School of Circus staff. Participated on the study 09 male subjects with an average age of 27,9 years old, and 4 years of experience in the activity. For statistical analysis we used descriptive statistics to organize and summarize the data set of the study, with values, measures of location and dispersion (mean and standard deviation). It was also applied to inferential statistics in order to explain probabilistic theories to explain the occurrence of the findings. Then, we applied the Mann-Whitney test to check the variation between the groups proposed by the study, having been established a rate of 95% reliability. For the same we used the Statistical Package for Social Sciences, version 17. Our results show that the flying trapeze acrobats are characterized with morphophysiological profile around climbers and gymnasts, but in specific aspects, there is a peculiarity of the sport to differentiate, within the same acrobatic practice, the physical profile of Catchers and Flyers. In catchers was possible to delineate specific features as a significant degree of strength, particularly grip strength, high technical requirements and a well developed space-time perception. When we analyze the Flyers, they also present high values of the biomotor valences, however, demanding a lesser extent on the handgrip and the body mass compared to Catcher, the specifity due to training given in the two diffenrent functions. It is Important to say that studies directed to morphophysiology on flying trapeze acrobats, or even circus, are still scarce in the literature, and the present study was conducted with a small number of subjects.pt_BR
