Descrição: dc.descriptionIn this lecture Professor Robert Wyman speaks of the demographic transition in developing countries. In the 50's, on most of the underdeveloped countries mortality rates went down by half compared with the rates in the pre-modern period. The Professor compares two fertility transitions, in Sweden and in Mexico. Hunger, poverty and war are irrelevant when compared with the amount of children born each year. Developed countries that want to limit their fertility and do not use contraceptives for various reasons (fear of side effects) submit to dangerous illegal abortions-
