Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe present work has as a guiding element perception of literacy from a public school in the methods which are placed at the service of the educator in the "literacy" process. Assuming that literacy is the most basic importance in the training and educational development of a child, then this is the main function of the school when teaching the basics, happy to teach, learn, read and write, things that are so precious in the life of every human being. It was observed during the research that there are various techniques, methods and conceptual trends that assist the pedagogical practices of the teacher. Do not claim that this work is to get there as an end point, and indicate the best method or form of literacy, but only to show the historical currents, the conceptual bases and being employed in the educational process at the present time, and, besides observing what are the perceptions of teachers of the 1st year of primary school - early grades in a private school in the Municipality of Ibaiti/PR have these practices in their teaching strategy, and an analysis of what are the methods that are being appropriated by them as a guidance in basic training the literacy of their students. This research has the character of literature and field research with five teachers of literacy, which was proposed to fill in a questionnaire with open questions. Observed in the survey data was that the majority of participants do not have depth and knowledge regarding the technical concepts and their distinctions in the teaching methods. We can still observe that the traditionalist system still prevails in the intricacies of the classrooms, but the answers were the collaborators in the sense that are all focused on the constructivist methodological system.pt_BR
