Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe reading and interpretation of mathematical statements provide opportunities to correct resolution. Understand what is asked to be answered collaborates in the development of techniques and methods to get correct answers. This work aimed to make an analysis of the lack of reading and mathematical interpretation by students when solving exercises of matter, as well as prove that the reading and interpretation are present in the discipline of mathematics as important as the way the discipline of language Portuguese. The results showed that it is possible to make reading and mathematics performance in all content, facilitating learning through understanding, even in cases of poor academic performance by factors unrelated to school. In this study it was observed that the incentives for reading and interpretation resulted that all students were able to overcome to correctly solve a greater number of issues. The reading of the utterance interpretively facilitated the understanding and consequently the mathematical learning. Reading and Interpretation in Learning Mathematics are paramount because it was found that the discipline of mathematics have their content linked to other disciplines especially the Portuguese, after reading and interpreting is prerequisite for learning math.pt_BR
