Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis work had as thematic the human’s theory of evolution, which since the first researches until the most recent studies generate doubts and concerns while Humans have always sought answers to the life origin and it´s evolution. The subject is recurrent in the life of the students through the movies, cartoons and documentaries, causing them concern. The National Curriculum Guidelines (DCNs) features as proposal to the elementary school that the teacher rescue the prior knowledge and organizes the contents around themes related to the experience of the students. The aim of this study was to explore and discuss in partnership with students, issues involving the reasons of human evolution on Earth, making the classroom an environment conducive to reflection field. The field research was conducted with 54 elementary school students (Cycle II, 7th year). The achievement was by raising awareness of the issue, empirical approach of knowledge, exploration of creativity through drawings and questionnaire opinionated contextualized. The results showed that the most part of the students don’t feel confident to discuss their ideas orally, but they could express themselves through drawings. It was found that 90% of the students recognize the theory of evolution by establishing parallels with his life, 87% of students believe that living in society represent advantages for human survival and perpetuation, and 89% of the students established relationships between ecological imbalances and the human evolution . These results demonstrate the importance of working evolutionary theory in school continuously, in an accordance embracing and integrated way with other disciplines.pt_BR
