Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to verify the importance of experiments to teach science in elementary school because nowadays science teaching in primary schools is very fragmented on issues involving theory which ultimately hinder the learning and understanding of students, it is very difficult to bring scientific concepts to reality that they experience only by a mechanical method. For this reason is that many professionals in the experimental classes seeking an alternative that can demonstrate significantly the importance of this tool in the construction of knowledge. The experimentation during class is not only important for the awakening interest in science among students, but also for many other reasons, mainly to understand the phenomena governing the transformations that occur on Earth. Therefore experimental practice has a broader role than expected because it develops greater interest in students, besides raising skills that was not visualized in lectures by example. Order the importance of developing experiments to teach science in elementary education, was developed in this research related to experimental classes theoretical activities to demonstrate the potential of the same thus allowing the construction of knowledge.pt_BR
