Resumo: dc.description.abstractBrazil has been undergoing a process of economic growth which has led to investments in various industry segments. Two good examples of this situation are represented by pulp and paper companies; and companies in the textile industry. In these companies water consumption during the different steps related to the production of pulp and related dyes, dyeing processes involving high and it generates large amounts of waste. While the paper industry effluents are characterized by the presence of lignínicos compounds in the textile industry is the main characteristic staining dyes that are not actually fixed to the product of interest. This study aimed to carry out the treatment of solutions of model compounds, lignin and Reactive Black 5 dye, using Fenton and photo- Fenton bench scale and continuous solar CPC reactor type. The treatment conditions were optimized and the studies were conducted for both the batch reactor as for the CPC, for the two solutions, separately. Were evaluated as parameters: spectral area, color and phenolic compounds. The results obtained for the solution of lignin in batch reactor showed greater reduction in spectral area in the photo-Fenton system (86%) after 120 minutes of reaction. For the CPC reactor, the area reduction was 54% after 29 minutes of reaction. With respect to the dye solution, the reactors studies also demonstrated a reduction bench spectral area with artificial light (89%) in 60 minutes. However, in solar reactor, with 29 minutes of reaction, the reduction of spectral area was 83%. For both compounds, the concentration of phenol followed the same pattern, indicating an increase in the concentration of phenol at the start of the reaction and subsequent reduction. These results show that the treatment with the CPC type solar reactor occur more rapidly than bench tests for both compounds.pt_BR
