Resumo: dc.description.abstractLearning disabilities are usually identified when the student starts formal education and is expected to be author of his/her own knowledge acquisition. Thus, insofar as it fails to understand and assimilate the contents mediated by the teacher usually does not reach the minimum average expected to progress to further series, and may experience continuous disapproval and even quit school when Specialized Educational Services (ESA) are not offered. When analyzing the process of literacy and learning difficulties that hinder the child to appropriate the knowledge necessary for reading and writing it appears that the case not to experience a process of intervention specific to their needs , will not be able to continue their studies . Due to this context, this study aims to describe the need of understanding what learning disabilities are and how they reflect on the development of students who experience the literacy process in more depth, since such knowledge is essential to the performance teaching. As a research methodology, specific material was used in order to understand the proposed theme: learning difficulties. Als, the research was carried out on a 3rd grade of elementary school of the Public Education of Foz do Iguaçu.pt_BR
