Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis work had as its theme the use of the portfolio as a teaching resource and methodological, being used as an assessment tool in science discipline, knowing well the contributions to the teaching practice and the teaching and learning process. Towards the educational portfolio covers the entire process of filing and organization of records prepared by students and allow you to track your progress and difficulties. In the survey, data were collected obeying methodology already described in the literature, which are established in 10 steps to the process of manufacture and assembly of the portfolio. All work, activities and students' productions as well as his photographs , learning diaries and records were collected in portfolios of individual learning. The data were analyzed in a qualitative way, through documentary analysis and analysis of the processes involved. At the end of the work with the portfolio of science, some important relationships for pedagogical practice were established. Finally, it was found that the use of portfolios as a teaching resource, methodological and as an assessment tool in science has become feasible and possible in the classroom, contributing to the teaching practice and the teaching and learning process, as promoted affection, interaction and knowledge of mental process of students.pt_BR
