Resumo: dc.description.abstractIn recent years Early Childhood Education has been the subject of research in various aspects, especially for abandoning the paternalistic character and prioritize the development of the child. Starting from the principle educational resources and teaching plans have changed, therefore the assessment beginning to be designed from the perspective of early childhood education. Based on this, the present work tries to score the concept of evaluation as well as its use or not in kindergarten, specifically in classes Pre II of a Municipal School Umuarama. It is understood that the assessment in Early Childhood Education must be seen as part of the development potential of students, preparation of new individuals to society in a continuous, formative and procedural process that has no punitive or classificatory nature, but rather to diagnose learning so that the teacher can make the necessary intervention. Therefore, we raise the following problem: As the evaluation process of students from kindergarten? Moments where evaluation activities are used? As filing of evaluation methods? There are pre-determined evaluative agendas? To support the study, we sought theoretical basis of authors such as Hoffman (1966) that refers to evaluation and Piaget (1970) which deals in child development.pt_BR
