Resumo: dc.description.abstractDuring the industrial process for manufacture of TNT, asymmetric TNTs are produced from the nitration of toluene, and must be removed to meet military specifications. The three-nitro compound is formed with several impurities, which are removed by successive washes. The red water is obtained through the second washing which is performed with sodium sulfite containing asymmetric forms of TNT. The main purpose of this work is to identify and characterize aromatic amines present in red water via GC/MS and how to optimize recovery methods for derivatives of nitro compounds and also evaluate the compounds extracted through GC/MS due to reduction of the nitro group by nitroreductase in microorganisms that often leads to the subsequent formation of amines, hydroxylamines or other intermediate. The comparison of the chromatograms with the librery data of the equipment (NIST) allowed the identification of 4-Amino-2,6-Dinitrotoluene aromatic amine, confirming its presence and activity in bioreduction nitrated compounds present in the red water. In the last step, based on the information obtained, forms of recovery will be proposal. The identification of compounds is a way to check how the pollutant is the residue derived from the red water and the possibility of recovery of the aromatic amines.pt_BR
