Conscientização da importância da mata ciliar no ensino fundamental na região rural do município de Colombo - PR

Abstract

Knowing that agriculture is one of the major responsible for the destruction of Riparian forests, this work was as objective to raise awareness in the students of the Municipal John Joseph Gasparin Rural School in Colombo-PR, in order to act as disseminators of environmental education in their families, and especially in the rural community and the farmers. In this study, bibliographical searches, analysis of data transferred by the secretary for the environment and interviews with parents of students and also students were performed, in order to Investigate their conceptions about the theme riparian forest. With the results obtained from the survey of the students, it was found that they perceive the importance of preserving the environment. However it is still necessary towork the environmental education in the school and to emphasize themes geared to preservation and awareness. The results also showed that the majority of the students don't know a nascent, that being the case, enrichment activities such as visitations and reforestation of degraded areas of the river Bacaetavawere proposed. In the research with farmers, it was noted that the same are aware of the importance of the preservation of the Riparianforests, however their agricultural and farmable activities continue to destroy. With all this information, there is a wide perception that the problem of non-preservation is the lack of information and public policies geared to awareness of the communities, among them the farmers who depend on the hydric resources for survival.
