Resumo: dc.description.abstractIt is well known that experimentation is of paramount importance in all areas, in all modes of teaching and learning at all levels, but unfortunately not all educators, have this commitment during their classes, more specifically in science class. Taking into account such realization arose the interest in the theme proposed in the present work, which had as its theme "the experimentation in science education in the search for a meaningful learning: Possibilities and limitations", which sought to contribute with educators in General, since it will show the importance of the same use of experiences in their day-to-day work so that learners understand the science content in meaningful ways. Aimed to analyze the general importance of trial for teaching science, highlighting the possibilities and the limits found for the development of this practice, and to achieve this objective, in the course of the text sought to report a brief history of the teaching of Sciences, describe the importance of experimentation in General, report the importance of the educator in the teaching and learning process, presenting data related to learning through experimentation as well as expose situations that demonstrate the use of learning experiences. The methodology used for the development of the work was by means of bibliographical research and quantitative, and for such diverse readings was used in books, magazines, internet, periodicals, among other sources of information. It was also verified a learning situation in a classroom of fifth grade of elementary school to a school in the public schools of the municipality of Siqueira Campos/PR. The results showed that teachers agree on the importance of conducting experiments, and who perform whenever they can.pt_BR
