Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe Recreation and Leisure sector is an area of expertise highly sought by graduate and undergraduate students in Physical Education (PE), and consequently the number of businesses and employers in this area has increased. Therefore , this study aims to identify the management procedures in companies of Recreation and Leisure in Curitiba . As no other studies with the same intention were found, this research aims to contribute to the management sector for companies of this field. The management of a recreation and leisure company has four basic functions: planning, organizing, implementing and controlling an organization. These functions have been analyzed in this research, which featured seven companies in the recreation and leisure sector with all its administrative headquarters in Curitiba. The coordinators of the participating companies answered a questionnaire with five response options according to the Likert scale, with 1 - never, 2 - rarely, 3 - sometimes, 4 often, 5 - always. The averages of the questions of each function were between 4.14 and 4.37, concluding that, in general, companies participating in this study perform management functions. However, when each function was analyzed, some show lower averages, indicating that they need greater attention, and others that are already frequently conducted (according to the five-point scale), must be improved.pt_BR
