Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis paper had as thematic the preparation of an analysis trough the politic and methodological aspects of how the proceeds of the reading of students of Senador Teotônio Vilela School – Elementary and High School. It discusses the importance of the reading in the intellectual and cultural development of the student. A study conducted trough an exploratory research developed with students from Elementary School at morning period, in a qualitative way. It presents the relationship between the interviewees and the analysis of political and methodological aspects of reading at school and in the school library. In the political sphere discusses some of the federal and state governments programs to encourage the reading. Also it addresses the issue of reading to be very expensive in these days. If the Brazilians read a little is due to the reading in Brazil is still very expensive. In the methodological context it approaches the initiatives of the teachers and the school in how to make the students take pleasure in reading, research the ways that they are reading, if they are reading and then make a profile of these students, readers or not. And it discusses the importance of the librarian and of the school library in the life of each individual.pt_BR
