Resumo: dc.description.abstract | The Stress began to be researched after the 18th century, when the word was popularly employed, after being accepted by restrict biological concept of organic individual functions imbalance and by the Renaissance was perceived as a disease caused due disharmony created by disturbing forces adaptation. The term “Stress” is applied on the professional field under “Occupational Stress”, whereas, the disharmony caused by the living and local work demands act on the labor’s health. Also known as “the century’s disease”, is noticed due labor conditions tension (causing agent), due individual sensibility of relation with the causing agent and the psychological and physiological responses. Characterized, therefore, by having in focus a 'stressor' and an affected individual "stressed" where the stressor may originate in ocupacitional environment, such as a policy of job poorly implemented, ranging from lack of an intellectual challenge to the worker until the overload of tasks and functions or the eminent risk of accidents caused by the production process, or personal environment, exemplified by marital/family conflicts, financial problems, loss of loved ones, among others. Regardless of its origin, tracking causes, effects and establishing preventive guidelines, control and cure are necessary, especially on occupational stress that both reflexes on employees (for discontent evolving to diseases and syndromes), as the employer (for gain reflexes, that may evolve to labor indemnities). Companies that acknowledge the individual as a unique being, endowed of indivisible nature: Professional, personal, social and psychological, invests in Social Responsibility, and Quality of Life perceive on this subject an opportunity to improve employees health and life style, reversing investing costs into consequent productivity, attendance, commitment, safety (minimizing accident risks) and, even, improving company’s image. This paper describes a QOL of Stress Control corporative program developed on ABC S.A. Company, a chemical industry applied on explosives and the diseases worries as a potentiating or facilitator agent of occupational accidents. | pt_BR |
