Avaliação de riscos na implantação e na manutenção de redes de fibra óptica na região de Curitiba

Abstract

This paper analysis of the activities performed by employees of telecommunications in the region of Curitiba, with the focus deployment and maintenance of fiber optic network installed on poles from the mains. At first, a review of regulatory standards that apply to this activity, and technical standards adopted by a telecommunication company in Curitiba was taken. Then surveys the field that enabled verifies in practice the adoption of regulatory standards and their flaws were made. Several situations where PPE used were not meeting the existing standards such as, lack of seat belt harnesses for activities involving height, poorly maintained PPE and out of date were found. In surveys, also the roads, primary signals for deploying optical network, since they are performed in the streets, avenues and highways, occupying public spaces often heavy traffic of cars and pedestrians were analyzed. Signs made so that the isolation of the workplace was not adequate, allowing pedestrians to invade the area and also signs on the pavement that could be improved to prevent traffic accidents occurred were found. Because the activity be developed next to power cables from the posts, it is necessary to maintain a safe distance towards them and adopt some measures to prevent electric shock. It has been found in some surveys, this distance was not respected and that some workers do not have the actual extent of the danger to which they are subject. Besides inspecting and charge the correct use of PPE, with guidelines in place, there was the adoption of legal measures such as contractual penalties on service companies that perform the task of deploying and maintaining the optical network is required. However, these measures alone are not sufficient, awareness among workers about the dangers involved as well as having the right to receive from your employer PPE good quality and suffice number. Therefore we highlight the importance of continuous training. Were proposed improvements in security conditions in general, seeking to maintain health and physical integrity of workers involved in tasks.
