Resumo: dc.description.abstractGiven the impending problem of electric generation to meet the crescent demand, alternatives are been sought to solve this situation. This will be a major challenge for Brazil in the coming decades: attend the demand of the growing energy services, the security in energy supply and the environmental sustentability. One of the bets that has been made in countries like Japan, Germany, Portugal, Spain and USA is the usage of photovoltaic systems. Even this generation form still having a high price, when compared with other generation forms, is proving that has a lot of potencial and increases it participation in the global energy matrix. The photovoltaic technology has the greatest rising rate and cheapening rate of the generation system equipments. At a national level, even disposing of a great solar energy potencial, just a little has been promoted about the usage of photovoltaic systems. There are programs with this promotional target, and the 482 resolution issued by ANEEL is still too poor to consolidate the usage of the photovoltaic technology in the country. The present monopgraph will approach exacly about this issue. It will be performed a technical and economic viability study gathering photovoltaic systems connected to the network and isolated with part of Curitiba’s Botanic Garden illumination. Using softwares like HOMER and Excel, it will be possible to obtain the values of economic indicators and investigate the impact caused by factors such as current prices of equipments, solar potencial of Curitiba and the lack of incentives and programs to generate electricity from alternative sources in the viability study of photovoltaic systems usage. After that, some programs outside Brazil will be exposed proving that is possible to invest in this form of power generation with appropriate incentives.pt_BR
