Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe concept of Smart Grid is the infrastructure that integrates equipment and data communication networks to the electricity supply system. What is sought with the smart grid is nothing more than taking the technological innovations for the energy sector, which is a segment of fundamental importance for any nation. In this study the technical feasibility of implementing Smart Grid components for final consumers is studied, based on the technology available in Brazil. We conducted tests of smart meters with ZigBee and PLC technologies, aiming to analyze and compare their performance. To evaluate the performance of the solution offered by the devices, a test bench that simulates the electrical circuits found in Brazilian households was used. We analyzed the parameters of connectivity, remote start, communication and measurement in both technologies. The results were compiled, compared discussed. It is hoped that this work will contribute to the gradual process of familiarizing the national electric system with smart grid concepts, facilitating the understanding of the nature of the studied and its applications.pt_BR
