Resumo: dc.description.abstractComposting is one of the mechanisms used for the treatment of solid residues with organic and mineral characteristics which is achieved by means of metabolic activity of microorganisms that are present in the mass to be decomposed. This research aimed the recycling of nutrients found in urban solid residues such as pruning and gypsum residue which were mixed with horse manure, in order to incorporate the soil. The mixture of gypsum along with other residues was to verify the influence of the same decay in the mass of nitrogen decomposed by composting. In the study parameters such as moisture, volatile solids, temperature and pH were monitored for the purpose of adapting the process to the metabolic activity of microorganisms present in this condition. After 120 days, with the end of composting parameters were analyzed as Annex III to Instruction No. 25, dated July 23, 2009 of the Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento in order to compare with the material produced in this study. With the conclusion of the laboratory analysis it was possible to analyze the characteristic of decomposed materials, which showed the relation of the parameter with values under than the minimum established by Annex III, meaning a material with reduced quality, and it was also possible to compare through the final nitrogen concentration, which windrow had lower decay in this parameter, what does not confirm the influence of gypsum in decreasing decay of nitrogen in the compost due to low concentrations of this parameter in windrows higher concentrations of gypsum.pt_BR
