Resumo: dc.description.abstractSustainability is enjoy the nature to supply present needs without reduce the ability of future generations to supply their needs. This research purposes to analyze and evaluate the perception of sustainability in markets and supermarkets in the Medianeira City - PR, searching to identify indicators associated with perception, developing a set of items to measure the perception of sustainability and evaluate it based on elaborated instruments. The questionnaires to consumers and managers/owners have been applied in 4 supermarkets and 5 markets of the Medianeira City - PR, on random days. It was observed that consumers do not know how to answer some relevant questions of the responsibility of establishments and in other issues they expected more attitudes of the same consumers. With regard to responses of managers and owners, they want to be in accordance with the laws, qualify theirs employees and follow the wishes of the consumer. Through this research, it was possible to identify the need for establishments to adapt to the wishes of the consumer, the difficulty in becoming sustainable and the need of consumers to eat better, and as a suggestion, this research cites the importance of a waste management program for establishments with the help of the consumer.pt_BR
