Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis project had the objective of analyzing the feasibility of the wood residue, in the form of sawdust, in the production of wood-cement composite panels. The residue utilized was from the Pinus spp gender. The differential of this study it is the comparison between the wood residues in natura being submitted to a washing process for reduction of wood’s sugars. It was calculated a trend for each simulated situation. The mixture was realized in a concrete-mixer and the composite forms were kept pressured and plugged during a 24h period before being taking out of the forms. The panels were allocated inside a humid chamber for curing the concrete. After 28 days the bodies of test were extracted from the panels for the realization of some test procedures such as: static bending resistance, compression test and internal bond. The tests were conducted following European and North-American standards. The bending resistance test showed a gain on the tensile strength while bending due to pre-treatment of washing the wood particles. The compression strength test revealed that the fact of reducing or not the wood’s sugars on the residues cannot influence on the panel’s compressive strength. All bodies of test, of both trends, had values above the minimum stipulated a German manufacturer, which developed a production system for wood-cement panels. The use of the admixture of chemical connections (CaCl2) made the utilization of the wood residue in natura possible without major problems. In general, the results did not justify the use of the sugar’s reduction process, because there was not a significant gain and in addition the excessive waste of water may lead to the infeasibility of this method both economically and ecologically.pt_BR
