Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe influence of discussions related to environmental protection divides opinions. Causes the constant inclusion of new topics that address a development that ensures natural resources still intact for the benefit of future generations. The society, politics and the economy begin to take different paths. The changing habits or fitness for a new economic model that considers the preservation of natural resources has motivated public and private entities to seek sustainable ways. In this paper we will address the case of Devon's Steakhouse Grill, Curitiba - PR . Located in a central area , the smoke emitted by the burning of charcoal grills has become a nuisance to the surrounding residents , creating the need to find solutions to the problem . The investment in research resulted in the development of a treatment system - using microorganisms - which avoids the emission of smoke produced part of the chimney. However, the separation of the biomass retained after a certain process time must be performed. This study aims to demonstrate the possibility of separation of the biomass of microalgae, by electroflotation technique. To estimate the amount of microalgae were separated from the medium used as basic parameter absorbance at 665 nm and the parameter of suspended solids. Analysis of suspended solids, current, voltage, pH and aluminum concentration contributed to interpretation of the system dynamics. The average of the percentage of biomass were recovered: 74,5% absorbance and suspended solids 84,73%. Proving that the designed system meets the demand of separation.pt_BR
