Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe traditional biology teaching expository and theoretical classroom uses and provides just a rote learning of concept. Students are tired of lectures! This work aims to describe a methodology for teaching of bacteria that become attractive and interesting classes and bring the contents of the reality of the students. It also aims to know the opinion of these on their learning in practical classes. There was this kind of teaching mode in technical school Edson Galvão to 38 students of the first year of high school. The lesson took place in two steps:-in Step1 (first class) each student held a surface scan, and incubated their plate in an oven by -36.5 35.5° C by 12:0 am time required for the growth of bacteria (procedures described in annex 1). The following week (next class) took place to step 2, where each remarked on their plate the type, color and amount of colonies, chose a colony for the smear and blush by Gram, and observe their morphology and dyeing characteristics under the microscope. It should be pointed out that one of the obstacles to the realization of such a mode is the time required for preparation of materials, that is, it took about 4:0 in the preparation and sterilization of culture medium and of any material to be used. Among the problems encountered can be mentioned:-the excessive number of students for this type of lesson due exposure to biological an physical risk, reduced number of Bunsen burner and not soaking lenses for microscopes that only two had increased from 40 x, this being insufficient to increase the observation of bacteria. But all these obstacles were outweighed by results found. Students have shown much appreciate this kind of lesson, the answers to the questionnaires applied was satisfactory. The evaluation showed that there was a significant learning, because more than 90% of the students answered satisfactorily the questions proposed. The practical lessons can enhance learning, to stimulate the participation of students and provide a meaningful learning.pt_BR
