Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe Environmental Education (EE) should collaborate with the social responsibility for environmental protection. It must be addressed as the interdisciplinary National Curriculum. With a dynamic teaching practice such as the school garden may be able to address the environmental issues and sustainable development. The indigenous Guarani practice agriculture for subsistence and at this point that environmental education can be contextualized with the school garden, as they establish relations of harmony with the environment where they live. The survey was conducted in São Miguel do Iguaçu/PR, and students of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade of High School State School Indigenous Teko Ñemoingo. The goal was to construct and evaluate the usefulness of the school garden as a tool for indigenous students in preparing citizen; provide practical knowledge on managing the garden, growing garden awaken the students and check the interdisciplinary approach to the cross-cutting theme: environmental education. The research was based on a quantitative and qualitative approach, where data collection was carried out based on these questionnaires and data analysis with the formulation of analysis categories that were raised by the researcher and then the data expressed in tables. It was found that it is possible to study the environment with the school garden, the main aspects: learn to take care of the garden and protect the environment and also to study how living things. It is noteworthy in this regard the possibility of working in environmental education through the school garden as it provides numerous benefits.pt_BR
