Resumo: dc.description.abstractAiming to characterize the potential for natural regeneration from seed bank and evaluate the transposition of the litter as a complementary methodology of restoration of riparian forest, litter and soil samples were collected from the following locations: an area of permanent preservation in process of restoration by total planting 3,5 years ago (BS-AR) and a fragment of riparian forest in the middle stage of conservation (BS-AF), Ecological Park Dr. Daisaku Ikeda Park, both in the banks of Ribeirão Três Bocas, Londrina, PR. The samples were monitored in controlled conditions in greenhouse for 90 days, receiving daily watering. Also been transposed (TS) to field conditions, in the APP in restoration, jointly with the induction of the bank (IB) of autochthonous seeds and monitored for about 90 days. In the monitoring realized in the greenhouse, it were recorded 1.452 individuals in the BS-AF samples, presenting a density of 2.880,95 seeds/m2, identified in 65 morphospecies. There was a predominance of invading herbaceous, however, 3 arboreal species are noteworthy: Trema micrantha (L.) Blume and Cecropia sp as typical of this stratum, just like Melia azedarach L., for being exotic and so abundant. In the BS-AR samples, 782 individuals were recorded, that is equal to 1.551,59 seeds/m2, identified in 20 morphospecies, all of herbaceous. In the monitoring in the restoration area, it was noted that in all treatments (TS, IB, PA and PC) there was a low density of plants and diversity of species, that can be explained by the severe drought that occurred during the experiment. Overall, few species and arboreal individual were found in the sampled sites, and the seed bank of the degraded area in restoration presented a disadvantage with regard to the forest remainder, for don’t present any arboreal species, and also for show low diversity of species. Therefore, the transposition of the seed bank presents itself as a complementary technique, with potential to contribute to the forest restoration, providing greater plant abundance, reachness species and forms of life.pt_BR
