Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe playful at school is a pertinent topic, especially because the situation experienced in the school system in terms of mathematics education, in most cases, is very problematic, justifying the choice of topic. Mathematics, as well as being an essential discipline in the school curriculum, regardless of their degree of difficulty, encourages the development of intellectual aspects are extremely important, as reasoning, logic, accuracy, objectivity, which help the individual to better understand the world and society in which it is inserted. Use appropriate tools for learning is the first step, since the school's main function is to prepare children for life in society, giving him able to learn a code of communication that allows effective participation in context. This study aims to conceptualize play, games and plays, analyze the infant universe tying him to this view, see his contribution to the teaching of mathematics in the early grades of elementary school. In preparing the work was necessary to refer to knowledge previously acquired, and notes specific to the subject, and qualitative. Later, it resorted to specialized centers, such as libraries and documentation centers, aiming to raise theoretical materials. Moreover, the Internet has contributed to-date data, seeking to confront theory and practice.pt_BR
