Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe main propose of this work was to investigate how science contents are performed in early childhood education, showing witch issues are transmitted to the CMEI (Centro Municipal de Educação Infantil) São Francisco students, and how they are approached by teachers, highlighting the importance of science education The school is located in the Morumbi district II, Foz do Iguaçu – PR. The approach of the problem was through qualitative research, by using a study case. Through observation was made a comparison with the theoretical background, to reach a particular conclusion regarding the teaching of science in early childhood education. The methodological assessments involved a questionnaire with five open questions, which was answered by thirteen interviewed teachers. Through the research it was found that teachers consider very important the work with science contents, in addition, they are continuously invited for expansion experiences and diversified the knowledge construction, enabling the learner to seek logical explanations and develop critical stance in social contexts. The contents of sciences took in account at the school are varied, and developed through theoretical and practical classes as well as by using jokes, games and fun activities, essential to be worked in early childhood education. These contents are developed by an interdisciplinary way. It had been noticed that the Municipality has a basic curriculum (AMOP, 2007) that guides fundamental and early childhood education in public schools.pt_BR
