Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe Youth and Adults (EJA) is a special form of education that aims to teach literacy whohad no opportunity to study in childhood and / or teens or those who for some reason had toleave school, either by irregular supply of vacancies either by inadequacies of the education system or by unfavorable socioeconomic conditions. Due to the heterogeneity of students in the same room, their interests, identities, their concerns, needs, expectations for the school,their skills, it becomes of paramount importance to the construction of an educational project with different methodologies in order that this public target is attracted andmotivated. Therefore, this project has as its recognition of the learning difficulties of students in adult education, pointing one of the methodologies to be applied in the classroom, always seeking to understand the contents worked, linking them directly with the daily lives of students and their daily experiences. The aim of this study is the importance of reading and how is the construction of knowledgeof youth and adults, considering their life experiences. And how specific objectives, there are: to identify the profile of students in adult education; verify the importance of adult education for students in relation to today's world, and describe the teaching methods that are applied to students of the School District EJA Tancredo Neves located in the city of St. Helena, PR. This work was carried out between the months of October 2011 and January2012, with field research investigating the expectations of students in relation to adult education classes, and possible changes that this course provides in relation to the life ofeach. For realization of the project was applied a questionnaire with 15 questions to 20 students in EJA, at the Municipal School Tancredo Neves - Kindergarten and Elementary School, Santa Helena, Paraná.pt_BR
