Resumo: dc.description.abstractPresent only 30 years ago at Brazilian universities, chemical education lies on the border between education and chemistry. His role is intended for educators chemist who should receive sufficient preparation to teach clearly and contextualized knowledge acquired in undergraduate chemical. In Brazil, has approximately 260 institutions that offer courses in chemistry, and of these 15 are located in the state of Parana where 11 tender the undergraduate degree in chemistry. So, it has been observed that teaching does not arouse the interest of those who aims to join the field of chemistry, making the degree becomes often only one alternative. In the present work we carried out a survey of Higher Education Institutions - HEIs that offer a degree in chemistry in the state of Paraná, naming them with letters in the course of work, and asked if they fill a questionnaire and curriculum for the course. Through information received aimed to infer the interest of the entrants in this area and work in the teaching profession, in order to verify whether a relation with the current shortage of chemistry teachers. We analyzed the curriculum matrices of degree courses in order to verify the composition of the workload to be accomplished and the specification of the units of study to be taught, among which the points were recorded: total workload of the course, and courses offered load of disciplines related to licensure. Through the study concludes that HEIs that offer degree in chemistry have a curriculum strongly grounded in the baccalaureate. You can prepare it, the problem is not related to the provision of the degree course in chemistry but the low demand for the course, since there is the availability of vacancies and these are not fulfilled. Still, the vacancies filled not guarantee new teachers, as well as the large dropout rate, the graduates seek work in other qualifications in the field of chemistry, is a consequence of the future prospects for earnings and career.pt_BR
