Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to evaluate the increased flow of the basin of the upper Rio Sedan, caused by the already urbanized areas and for future proofing processes considering the current urban condition presented, and future proofing processes. To this made the use of remote sensing and geographic information systems for classification and quantification of permeable and impermeable areas, and subsequent preparation of the map of runoff coefficient of the basin. We used both methods of calculation of flows: the Rational Method and Modified I- Pai-Wu - with the aim of comparing the results obtained. To develop the processes necessary calculations are made by determining the hydrological parameters involved: the basin area, time of concentration, rainfall intensity, average runoff coefficient of the basin subsidence coefficient of rain, hysteresis depending on slope the length of the longest talvegue, soil types, among others. The method for simulating growth was based on the law of zoning and master plan of the city of Pato Branco, which define the locations with possibilities of construction and maximum number of decks. Furthermore, for the preparation of maps, the process required a new classification of the green areas and the use of thematic maps prepared for the basin as: letter of native vegetation, the macro-zoning, zoning, and chart with the maximum number of floors per zone map and runoff current Basin in the upper Rio Light. We also carried out field verification of permeable and impermeable areas classified at work, making the correlation with the reality presented. The results were maps runoff basin and the upper Rio Slight peak flow simulations show that differences between the two methods used, for example, the concentration time of 25.77 minutes and return time 1 year peak flow for the Modified Rational Method presented a result Q1 = 62.7 m³ / s, whereas with I- Pai-Wu obtained Q1 = 82.77 m³ / s, both for the current situation waterproofing soil. This difference in flow values is even greater among methods when using a turnaround time of 10 years, and Q10 = 96.1 m³ / s for the Modified and Q10 = 298.42 m³ / s for the I-Pai-Wu. For the simulations the flow for a time of recurrence at 1 year was Q1 = 74.91 m³ / s for the case I and Q1 = 83.63 m³ / s for the case II, thus proving the increased flows as surface basin was if waterproofingpt_BR
