Resumo: dc.description.abstractElectric energy consumers will soon have the option to choose the rate which best suits them, as this will be differentiated throughout a day and therefore they will be able to monitor their consumption as already happens to landline and mobile telephone lines. Electric Energy National Agency (ANEEL) wants to regulate the differentiated electric energy rate mode as an additional option for the consumer. Approximately 90% of electricity meters in Brazil are electromechanical (ILUMINA, 2012), a device that will be replaced by electronic ones along the next years. Reduction of energy theft is possible only through use of electronic measurement technology as well as providing immediate information about consumption and several other functionalities that both consumers and local energy supplier can benefit from. In this context this project aims at developing a measurement system and low cost energy analysis that will be used for control and energy consumption sizing both for homes and industry. The system will gather instant data which will be informed via radio frequency – RF – to a central monitoring tower. Through this signal analysis it is possible to extract data about energy consumption over a given period to ensure that consumer can have greater control base on consumption record allowing to define monthly consumption goal and real time follow up as to how far or close to target the consumer is positioned. This project will result in the creation of a specific hardware for monophasic energy measurement system as well as project dedicated firmware and software for interface with user.pt_BR
