Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe study is inserted in the new context of Public Administration, which values the quality of services rendered to the population, aimed at identifying the role of the Department of Human Resources strategic planning in the municipality of Cascavel. Reaching specific goals to describe the actions of the Human Resources Department in achieving the organizational mission and vision, tactical planning for each Division of the Department, as well as find the main difficulties of this process. The study was based on a qualitative research in which the data was collected through the organization's files and records and interviews with the director and managers of the Human Resources Department divisions. The results have shown that the Human Resources Department is in balance with organizational objectives, developing policies and strategies that maintain constant performance and fulfillment of organizational mission and vision of the Department. It was observed that the Human Resources Department has the of developing services provided by the organization, involving the human resources policies, and so performing an appropriate selection process according to the needs and institutional requirements. Also, this department should ensure the permanence of the employees at public administration preserving their physical, mental and financial health, providing professional skills and consequently ensuring the quality of life and a worthy career for them.pt_BR
