Resumo: dc.description.abstractGiven the growing concern about the environmental conditions, and that the population has difficulty establishing a relationship between environmental problems and their everyday lives, this work aims to incorporate environmental education in teaching geared to children from preschool (age of four and five years) of a Early Childhood Center, aimed at raising awareness of the environmental cause not only of children, as parents and / or guardians, teachers and other employees of the institution. Practical activities were conducted with the children about: garden, composting and soil erosion, by experimenting with objects, activities were preceded or followed by a round of conversation on the topic of the activity. The study was evaluated through environmental questionnaire administered to parents and / or guardians, and develop mental maps (drawings) with children, for both cases the evaluation was performed before and after the development work. The result showed an improvement of the children to recognize the natural elements, the environment and landscapes, as well as the method of experimentation with objects was adequate stage of development of the children in reflecting a positive response to the work.pt_BR
