Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis work presents a study on the degradation of compounds present in the kraft effluent by lignolític basidiomycetes using the following: Phanerochaeta chrysosporium ATCC 24725 and Pleurotus ostreatus POS 560; unidentified fungi: CF-01 and LMB LMB - OP 02. Experiments were carried out on solid medium and in liquid medium, a sequence of four studies. Were varied in the first effluent concentrations of the culture media (0% to 100%), evaluating its effect on the mycelial growth. The second study, also conducted in solid medium consisted of a 23 experimental design, varying glucose, pH and concentration of effluent. Were selected fungi Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Pleurotus ostreatus ATCC 24725 POS 560 to perform the third study, in liquid medium, in another 23 factorial design, varying glucose, fungal species and effluent concentration and analyzed: glucose, biomass, lignínicos compounds, total phenolic compounds and color. The best result mycelial growth in petri dishes was obtained with the fungus Phanerochaete chrysosporium effluent by 10%, pH 7.0 and 10g / L glucose. The best results, for removal of compounds, in liquid medium were obtained with the fungus Pleurotus ostreatus, grown to 20% kraft effluent and with addition of 10g / L glucose. The mean values of removing total phenolic compounds from 9 – 14% color 64 – 76%, COD 38 – 66% and 41 – 64% lignínic compounds. In the last study we conducted a kinetic assay, for ten days, with sampling every two days. Regarding the kinetic assay correlation was observed between the color removal, lignin and biomass formation in the early days. Pleurotus ostreatus has potential degradation of compounds in kraft effluent.pt_BR
