Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe high competitiveness of today's automotive market forces companies to seek continuous improvements on its processes through the implementation of “Lean Manufacturing” concepts. The gain in productivity leads to a direct increase on the competitiveness, besides the productivity factors such as robustness of the processes and employee satisfaction also has great influence on the results achieved. The objective of this work is argue the feasibility to replacement of a manual deburring process through a process of electrochemical deburring (ECM - Eletrochemical Machining) of a machined metal part of a multinational company in the automotive sector. The modern manufacture try to put together the high technology with the productivity, in this way the search for new processes and more efficient technologies become more important on the industrial activity, the presented project was developed focused in the replacement of a manual deburring process by a Electrochemical machining operation, the ECM process uses the electrochemical removal to remove burrs and micro burrs that another conventional machining processes aren’t able to remove. Due to the complexity of the ECM process the implementation of the presented project became complex and demanded the study of many process characteristic’s as: burrs generation mechanisms on machining processes, electrochemical machining, limitations of the equipment used, new tooling, new hardware/software to control the process, limitations of the product machined, measurement and inspection equipment analysis and customer approval criterion to the replacement of the manual process, through the success of all project factors was possible increase the productivity on the production line, improve the work conditions of the associates, increase the robustness of the process and reduce the possibility of damage on the product manufactured.pt_BR
