Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe inclusion of topics in modern physics in high school is the subject of wide and deep discussion, and in some schools, this issue is already part of the given content. It is known that the contents of X-rays is among the most important topics in modern physics. This paper presents an analysis of the characteristics of the part of modern physics in seven physics textbooks for high school. Prior research has been carried out with few trained teachers or training on the elements which would be expected to find in a textbook before analyzing it. The conclusion was that, in general, a textbook presents the following information: description of the phenomenon, examples of everyday life; mathematical formulation; proposed experiment; illustrative elements (photos, figures, diagrams); elements of the history of science, and exercises (solved, proposed, qualitative, quantitative). The research was divided into three stages: first stage - expected elements in textbooks, second step - use of elements expected in textbooks, third step - content X-ray in the books. As a result, 86% of the books presented the most essential elements of enough content teaching, however, specifically the contents of X-rays is poor. The product of this research is a didactic material on X-rays to assist professors of physics in high school.pt_BR
