Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis study evaluated physical, chemical and biological parameters and the impact of homemade granular filter for its improvement. For this, were built and studied two filters, which the only difference between both is the filtering material (sand or anthracite). For the rainwater capitation, a capitation system were built, which used a small roof for water capitation. From this captured water, the two first millimeters were directed for the initial separator and the remaining for a storage system. Additionally, a homemade type Ville de Paris pluviometer were built to quantify the precipitation. At the end of each rain, the water were collected and submitted to a filtration, and de initial values were compared to the values after filtration. This comparison allow the evaluation of each filtering material efficiency. The results shows that the efficiency of both filters were verified. As proposed at the literature, for turbidity removal both filtering materials were very effective, reducing more than 95% in worst cases. Also, there were a pH increasing, from values lower to six to values close to eight, in both filters and a 45% reduction in the number of total coliform on sand filter.pt_BR
