Resumo: dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between lactate accumulation and intensity of running 10 km in tests. 12 runners participated in the study of street racing circuit selected by invitation and willingness. The participants, all male, were aged 24.6 ± 3.3 years, body mass 70.3 ± 8.4 kg, height of 1.72 ± 0.07 meters and fat percentage of 15.7 ± 5.3 percent. Participants were evaluated for evidence of a 10 km circuit. Blood lactate was collected before the test, at rest and immediately after the race. Subjects were categorized into three groups according to the time of trial as follows: G1 (time below 40 minutes), G2 (40 to 50 minutes) and G3 (above 50). Higher values of lactate accumulation was observed among those who performed the tests in less time. The relationship between lactate accumulation and the speed / time of the race was r = 0.83. This high correlation explains 68.89% of the variation of one variable on another indicating that the accumulation of lactate is related to the speed with which we run the test. Observing the values of VO2 race with the values estimated VO2 max, one can observe that those who accumulated more lactate were those who underwent the test at an intensity higher percentage and apparently are the best conditioned. It is concluded that the greater accumulation of lactate appears to be related to the intensity with which he takes an exam than on your level of fitness expressed in VO2. The ability to support greater accumulation of lactate may be related to the greater ability of individuals to metabolize the lactate that is produced during the exercises are high intensity.pt_BR
