Descrição: dc.descriptionThis study examines the impact of the size of homogenized ore stockpiles on the feed rate of concentration-ore plants and the inter-pile grade variability. An integrated simulation optimiza tion tool is used to incorporate the dynamic characteristics of this process. Therefore, applying the discrete event simulation technique in this study made it possible to analyze the losses due to the lack of homogenized piles in the ore yard. Three scenarios from a Brazilian mine company were explored. The results report an ore production gain of 5.57% of the scenario with the smallest ore pile size compared with a scenario with the largest ore pile size-
