Descrição: dc.descriptionThe interests in adverse effects proceeding from the use of pesticides has been increasing rapidly especially due to the possible environmental risks to the different kinds of aquatic environments. The availability of clean water is being considered the most critical issue about human safety that the world will face in the next 25 years. This work intends to verify, through the internationally recognize methods in aquatic toxicology area, the acute toxicity level of five pesticides (Roundup, Gramoxone, Cefanol, Isatalonil 500 SC and Dithane PM) to the test organisms: Selenastrum capricomutum (algae) and Daphnia magna(microcrustacean). The results obtained indicate a reasonable toxic classification except for a pesticide (Cefanol) to the test organism Selenastrum capricomutum, which indicates a classification to a product almost non toxic. From these analysis, it was developed an ecosystemic approach to the watershed in Nhundiaquara River – Morretes-Paraná, that brings out the implications of the use of pesticides, its possible effects in the aquatic environment and the federal legislation of pesticides critical context. Its evident the necessity of further multidisciplinary studies, which would permit a better comprehension of the ecological, socio-economic and cultural dimensions interaction.-
