Descrição: dc.descriptionCitation identity comprises a group of authors that researchers recite in their research. The very same concept is applied in the context of scientific journals, as it seeks to identify the theoretical repository highlighted by the journals. This research aims to identify the citation identity of the journal entitled Em Questao based on citation analysis. In this study, an 18-year time frame has been used, separating it into three periods of six (6) years that comprise: (2003-2008); (2009-2014); (2015-2020). Data were collected in the Brapci database and transported to Excel, with the identification of author fields, years of publication, journal titles, and types of publication. The results show that the predominant document typology was books, which corresponded to more than 45% of citations, scientific articles to 35%, book chapters to 10%, and other documents to below 5%. However, in 2014 the use of scientific articles overlapped books, concentrating a total of around 40%. Out of the 20 most cited scientific journals, 12 (60%) are national and 8 are foreign (40%), hereby suggesting that researches can be compared to other national journals focused on Information Science, as well as to studies within the same time frame to identify the research elite throughout 18 years of existence of Em Questao.-
