Descrição: dc.descriptionDigital technology has brought both new challenges and opportunities for humanising language teaching materials. One of its advantages is allowing teachers to develop digital materials which promote students’ engagement for language acquisition (Tomlinson & Masuhara, 2018), namely for being localised and more meaningful to actual students. Podcasts have also been shown to improve learners’ motivation and listening skills (e.g. Stefancik & Stradiotová, 2020). So, this exploratory study aims at analysing the effects of using podcasts following a meaningful, humanised language learning approach. A comparison was made between two groups of Chinese university learners of Portuguese as a foreign language: the experimental group listened to a podcast associated with several locally relevant written keywords; the control group had no written keywords. Results in listening comprehension and pedagogical implications are discussed, as this study can inform teachers on the strategies to use digital tools for input processing and personalised language learning.-
