Descrição: dc.descriptionTourism, as an industry, has been increasing in recent years. The cruise industry might be the best example. Huge ships cross the oceans, offering luxury and amenities to thousands of people. They are real floating cities with short stops at several places where tourists disembark and invade historical areas and fragile ecosystems, taking great pleasure from the contact with different cultures and exotic environments. The cost of this growing industry that is available to only a few is paid by us all with the decrease in the quality of the air and the damage that is inflicted on the oceans. It is therefore urgent to know the true environmental cost of this type of tourism and reflect on choices. It is possible to have both (cruises and environmental quality) as long as regulations are implemented and people moderate their behaviour.-
