Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis chapter explores some of the political, social and cultural movements that took place in Germany and had an impact on Edith Stein's life at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. A woman, philosopher, convert to Catholicism, teacher and politically active, Stein lived through a period of transformation, from the end of World War I, through the Weimar Republic, to the Nazi regime, when she was murdered in the gas chamber at Auschwitz-Birkenau. We intend to analyze how Stein's experiences were influenced by these political, social and cultural events, highlighting her search for identity and truth in an environment of growing anti-Semitism and political repression.pt_BR
