Resumo: dc.description.abstractAgriculture in Brazil accounts for most of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), providing raw materials for the food, medicine, and cosmetics markets, among others. Some strategies can increase crop productivity, such as inoculating arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), an efficient tool for optimizing the biosynthesis of bioactive compounds in several plants. For this reason, this book brings together research papers carried out for over two decades in Brazil to evaluate the production of secondary metabolites in mycorrhizal plants, especially those of medicinal importance. In this approach, the botanical families, plant organs, AMF species, and compound groups evaluated over these years of studies have been listed, taking into consideration the main Brazilian research groups working in this area. The chapters were also produced to encourage the integration of researchers working in this area of mycorrhizology in Brazil, highlighting some gaps that could be investigated.
