Resumo: dc.description.abstractBackground: Participation in teaching activities with simulations allows improved performance in retention of knowledge, ensuring satisfaction in pedagogical activities. Objective: The objective of this work was the creation of scenarios for teaching with realistic simulation on prevention of health care infections and validation by experts. Methods: The study was conducted at the Skills Laboratory of the Hospital Complex of the Federal University of Ceará/Ebserh/Brazil, in partnership with the Christus University Center. Four simulation teaching scenarios were created, with the participation of a team composed of one doctor and one nurse specialists in intensive care, PhD and with experience and training in simulation teaching. The scenarios created were (1) Foley catheter (FC) placement in woman, (2) FC placement in man, (3) Central venous catheter (CVC) placement, and (4) Care with invasive devices FC and CVC. For validation, a quantitative, transversal, and descriptive approach was used. The scenarios were applied with 8 residents (3 doctors and 5 nurses, divided into 3 residents for each scenario), which were filmed and stored in video files. Just after the application, they were evaluated by the residents using a satisfaction, self-confidence, and a design of scenarios questionnaires. The video file link has been sent to expert judges, as well as a written scenario file and a scenario validation questionnaire with Likert scale. A total of 13 judges, 8 from the nursing area and 5 in the medical area, were divided to evaluate scenarios relevant to their professional areas. Results: Responses to the validation questionnaire were tabulated and evaluated by calculating the content validation index (CVI). All scenarios presented an CVI above 0.78, which is considered by literature as appropriate. Discussion and Conclusion: It was possible, through the present work, to create and validate four scenarios of teaching for realistic simulation on prevention of health care infections. In the future they may be used for multiprofessional team, residents, or clerkship health students training. Take Home Message: The creation of simulation scenarios in university hospitals with validation by expert judges can become a tool for training the skills to prevent health care infections.pt_BR
