Resumo: dc.description.abstractThis Volume 2, Issue 1 of the book "Science, Society and Emerging Technologies" brings together a collection of chapters that span a wide range of research topics, reflecting the intersection of science, technology, and society. The contributions in this volume underscore the importance of interdisciplinary approaches to addressing contemporary challenges and exploring new opportunities across various fields of knowledge. The chapters cover topics ranging from advancements in biomedicine, such as the study of Leigh syndrome mouse models and therapies for Alzheimer’s disease, to innovative strategies in education, including techniques to enhance mathematics learning in students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Additionally, advancements in communication technologies are discussed, such as manufacturing techniques for RFID antennas and enhancements in printed monopoles for ultra-wideband applications. In the realm of sustainability and innovation, this volume includes a review of polymeric composites in civil construction and the potential for obtaining biomolecules from fish processing waste in the Amazon. Issues of management and quality of work life are explored, as well as the role of school management in diversity and the dynamics of social movements. Other chapters present literary and cultural analyses, highlighting the representation of patriarchy and satirical poetics, along with bibliographic reviews on the phytochemical and biological activity of medicinal plants. Research on adhesion and resistance of dental materials is also addressed, as well as the use of workflows in the management of physiotherapy services. This volume thus offers a comprehensive view of emerging research that seeks to connect technological and scientific advancements with social and environmental impacts, providing enriching reading for researchers, academics, and professionals interested in the intersections of science, technology, and society.
